Dear Gallatin R-V School Parents and Guardians,
The Gallatin R-V School District will not be in session tomorrow, Friday, January 12, 2024. However, it will be designated as an AMI (Alternate Methods of Instruction) Day. For detailed information about AMI, please visit our district website Menu> District>AMI.
Considering the possibility of inclement weather affecting in-person attendance this week and the upcoming one, our instructors have prepared manageable lessons to keep students engaged while we are not able to meet for in-person learning. Parents of students in grades PK-6 are advised to check their child’s backpacks for hard copies of assignments, while students in grades 7-12 can find their assignments on Google Classroom.
Should you have any questions, please don't hesitate to reach out to your student’s teacher or building principal.
Have a great night,
Dr. Collins

Good morning Gallatin R-V Parents and Guardians-
In light of the anticipated weather conditions, Gallatin R-V Schools will be dismissing early today, January 8th, 2024, at 12:30 pm. The afternoon preschool session has been canceled. This decision is made with the safety of our students and staff in mind, considering the potential travel challenges posed by the weather forecast.
The decision on whether to close school on Tuesday, January 9th, 2024, will be made tonight following an assessment of the storm's impact.
Additionally, please note that decisions regarding tonight's athletic contests at the Lawson Tournament will be announced at a later time today by the Lawson School District. We are actively monitoring the situation and will provide updates as soon as possible.
Thank you,

Greetings Gallatin R-V Parents-
We are pleased to announce the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (DESE) is accepting applications for a grant award that students can get to use toward computer equipment, home internet service, tutoring, academic camp, and other educational services. Eligibility for this money is income-based, and could possibly award up to $1500 to your student. The deadline to apply is October 25th, 2023. This is a one-time monetary award that does not have to be repaid! Please contact your school building counselor to assist if you think your student qualifies and you need help completing the application. A flyer with a QR code has been attached to this post, and the link to apply can be found online at: https://missouri.withodyssey.com/

The Gallatin NHS Chapter will be holding a fundraiser to help continue gathering donations on behalf of the Friends of Gallatin. Funds raised will be donated to the cause of helping restore the downtown cupola building and the future plans of turning it into a community center. During the home football game vs. Trenton on October 13, the NHS chapter will be raffling off tickets for a chance to win a set of cornhole boards designed and built by NHS members. The drawing for the board set will be held after halftime of the football game. Tickets are $2 a piece, or 3 tickets for $5.
The NHS members will also be passing buckets to collect Change for the Cause throughout the home side stands during the 2nd quarter. Any spare or loose change you have in your pockets and are willing to donate will be greatly appreciated.

Good afternoon Gallatin R-V parents and community members-
As a reminder, we will be participating in an intruder/active shooter drill tomorrow Friday, September 8th, 2023 at approximately 2:15 pm. During this drill, emergency responders will respond to the school building to test our community response systems and timing. I will reiterate that this exercise is a drill and not an actual emergency. Please feel free to share this information with all community members.
Attached to this communication are links to access the Gallatin Emergency Response Guide. This guide outlines the key elements of Gallatin R-V School District’s state of preparedness. I hope it will answer questions you have concerning our actions and intentions in the event of an emergency. You will be receiving a hard copy of this document via mail or it will be placed in your student's backpack. Please let us know if you do not receive a copy or have any trouble accessing this document.
