The Grand River Conference has announced an adjustment to its membership. By an 8–1 vote of the membership, Polo will no longer participate in the conference beyond the 2025–2026 school year. Polo’s vote was to remain in the conference.
This decision followed careful and collaborative discussions among conference leadership, athletic directors, and school administrators. The determining factor was based solely on anticipated challenges in fielding a full football team in future years and is not a reflection of the efforts, sportsmanship, or commitment of Polo.
Polo has been a valued and respected partner within the GRC for many years, and their athletes, coaches, and community have consistently represented themselves with pride and class. While the decision was difficult, it was made to ensure the long-term stability and competitiveness of the conference while recognizing the unique challenges facing Polo’s football program.
The Grand River Conference sincerely thanks Polo for its many years of contributions to athletic competition, camaraderie, and tradition within the league. While Polo will no longer participate as a full member, the conference remains supportive and wishes its students, athletes, and community the very best moving forward.
Signed,
On behalf of the Grand River Conference

Congratulations to Gallatin High School Principal Brent Burke! On Tuesday, May 13, in a surprise ceremony attended by staff, students, and families at Gallatin High School, Principal Brent Burke was honored as one of only eight high school principals in the entire state of Missouri selected for regional recognition by the Missouri Association of Secondary School Principals (MoASSP). Mr. Burke was recognized by MOASSP Board Member Lisa Craig of Stanberry High School and MOASSP President-Elect Andy McNeely of Lathrop Middle School for his outstanding leadership and commitment to connecting and supporting educators across the state. As a regional honoree, Mr. Burke will advance to the next round of selection for Missouri State Principal of the Year. If selected, he will move on to be considered for the National Principal of the Year. There is truly no one more deserving. We thank Mr. Burke for his dedication to our students, staff, and school community. Gallatin is proud to have him leading the way.
