The Gallatin R-V School officials have announced that sixth grade students will not be participating in the junior high sports programs this upcoming season (2026-2027) due to an increase in student participation at the junior high level.
With a significant rise in the number of sixth, seventh and eighth grade students signing up for athletics, team rosters have reached capacity. The goal when introducing the sixth grade students were to help in increasing the programs numbers, which now have grown exponentially. In order to maintain rational team sizes, provide adequate playing time, and ensure proper coaching supervision, the decision was made to limit participation to 7th and 8th grades only.
